VIBE TO THE RHYTHM OF 3X3 BASKETBALL IN MARSEILLE

Marseille is getting ready to experience three days of celebration to the rhythm of 3×3 basketball! From May 23 to 25, the Phocaean city will host the third edition of the 3XFestival, a free event open to all, blending international competitions, sports entertainment, urban culture, and a festive village. Organized by ORECA Events in partnership with the French Basketball Federation (FFBB), the 3XFestival has established itself as the largest 3×3 event in France.

AN OPEN-AIR ARENA AND AN XXL LINEUP

With more than 20,000 spectators expected and 112 international athletes gathered, this 2025 edition marks a major turning point. Set up outdoors at Parc Chanot, a 1,200-seat arena will host the weekend's two major competitions:

  • FIBA 3×3 World Tour: 14 of the best men's teams in the world.
  • Women’s Series: 14 women's teams, including Team France, the double defending champion in Marseille.

Amateur tournaments and federal competitions will round out the program, with over 400 amateur players getting in on the action. The event village, entirely free to access, will feature DJ sets, sports activities, and a food court. An incredible atmosphere is guaranteed, thanks to the exceptional presence of the official Olympic Games announcer and DJ.

EXCEPTIONAL EXCLUSIVE BROADCAST ON FREE TV AND FRANCE TÉLÉVISIONS

The 2025 3XFestival will benefit from unprecedented television coverage, with the entire event broadcast exclusively on Free TV and France Télévisions.

  • Free TV / Portal: All matches will be broadcast live from Friday to Sunday.
  • France Télévisions (France TV Sport Portal & YouTube France 3 Régions): The final stages will be broadcast live on Saturday and Sunday.

AMATEURS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

The 3XFestival will honor amateurs, youth, and communities with limited access to sports, featuring a program designed as a true springboard to elite levels, as well as a powerful tool for social connection.

Friday, May 23 will mark the opening of the festival with the first edition of the 3XF Partners Tournament, bringing together 14 teams from key local institutions such as CEPAC, RTM, and the City of Marseille. A relaxed gathering that will offer a first immersion into the 3×3 universe to kick off the festivities.

The youngest participants will also have their place, with 3×3 basketball introductory sessions organized for several primary schools in Marseille. This initiative, technically supported by the FFBB, illustrates the festival's commitment to local youth and strengthens ties with the city.

On the same day, the 3X13 Tournament will showcase the 12 best middle schools in the department in a competition dedicated to 8th and 9th-grade classes (4ème and 3ème), organized with the support of the Departmental Council.

Saturday, May 24 will kick off with the Women's Open Junior League, a federal competition gathering the best female players aged 15 to 18, sponsored by CEPAC. The competition level will be particularly high, with the final scheduled on the center court as a curtain-raiser to the Women’s Series finals.

Following that, the Neighborhood Tournament (Tournoi des Quartiers), sponsored by the City of Marseille, will bring together the top teams from local qualifiers held since October 2024. These teams, coming from recently refurbished playgrounds, illustrate the 3XFestival's desire to anchor itself long-term in local neighborhoods and promote 3×3 basketball as a tool for inclusion.

Also on Saturday, the Influencers Tournament, supported by PUMA, will see the most popular basketball figures on social media, such as Hoopsider or Rose, face off.

Sunday, May 25 will make way for the Men's Open Junior League, also reserved for 15-to-18-year-olds, this time sponsored by IBIS. Just like the girls the day before, this high-level federal competition will allow young talents to aim for national finals qualification, with the final played on the official court right before the major men's World Tour finals.

PLAYER WELL-BEING AT THE CORE

Player comfort is a top priority for the 3XFestival. Leveraging its expertise, the Metropole will provide a personalized transport service to ensure optimal hosting conditions for professional participants.

AN EVER MORE ATTRACTIVE IMMERSIVE VILLAGE

Throughout the weekend, the event village will offer visitors complete immersion into the world of 3×3 basketball and urban culture. Live concerts, DJ sets, sports demonstrations, creative workshops, a variety of food trucks, a chill zone, and a giant screen will liven up the venue in a friendly atmosphere.

Themed booths will enrich the experience: V&B will offer a refreshing beverage selection right across from the giant screen.

POSCAs will host customization workshops for sports products.

ECOLOGIC will raise visitor awareness regarding environmental issues in sports.

The PUMA x Basket4Ballers pop-up shop will offer exclusive products, including brand-new 3XFestival t-shirts.

The HighBlock corner will complete this lifestyle offering by highlighting jerseys as a key piece of fashion and self-expression.

Highlight of the weekend: A contest will give attendees the chance to win VIP tickets for the rapper JUL's concert!

PUMA STRENGTHENS ITS COMMITMENT ALONGSIDE THE 3XFESTIVAL

Already a partner in 2024, PUMA is renewing its commitment as the official outfitter for the 3XFestival's amateur competitions. The brand will highlight its flagship products and collaborations, such as the PUMA x B4B All-Pro Nitro, and will allow players to test its gear directly on-site.

PUMA will also activate its communication channels to promote the event, share results and stats, and broadcast exclusive content featuring its #PUMAFAM ambassadors: Laetitia Guapo, Leo Delaunay, Marie Mane, Lahaou Konate, Axel Toupane, Leo Cavalière, and Marie-Eve Paget.

"The 3XFestival is much more than a sporting event. It is a gathering that honors the urban culture from which 3X3 basketball emerged. The festival relies on a strong balance: on one hand, international competitions offering a high-level show; on the other, amateur tournaments and activities designed to share the discipline with all audiences. Welcoming players and visitors alike is a priority, and I would like to commend the involvement of our partners and local associations, with whom we build each edition with a constant focus on enriching the collective experience." Raphaël de Chaunac, Vice-President of ORECA Group

"Following our return to basketball in 2019 and our strong ambitions, we are very proud to partner once again with the 3XFestival, an event that shares our values and our passion for basketball. This partnership embodies our desire to support initiatives that foster the development of this sport, particularly in the Marseille region. We look forward to collaborating on this new edition of the 3XFestival, which offers a unique platform to spotlight 3×3 basketball, a booming discipline at local, national, and international levels."Malo Verbeke, Basketball Brand Manager, Puma France
