If this year’s highlight was the London Olympic games, the first race back after the summer break for the World Endurance Championship was the 6 Hours of Silverstone, where SIGNATECH-NISSAN claimed a fine bronze medal in this fourth round of the season. Starting 13th on the grid, Nelson Panciatici, Pierre Ragues and Roman Rusinov crossed the finish line in 3rd position in the LMP2 category, just twenty seconds behind the class winner.

Philippe Sinault : « It was a fantastic race ! Six hours of an F3 Grand Prix, I loved it. The team was exemplary, both in the preparation of the car, which had no problems at all, as in the pit stops, which were the fastest of the grid. All these elements combined to give us a fine result this weekend. Pierre made a fine start, Roman put in a solid double-stint, while Nelson completed four stints with his knife between his teeth. To sum it up, the team was fantastic.

Nelson Panciatici : « Physically, it was difficult at the end, and managing the traffic made some situations rather delicate – it was full attack for 182 laps, and I really enjoyed myself. To find yourself fighting with drivers like Sarrazin – that’s endurance racing at the very top ! In just my third prototype race I have finished in third position. I have made a lot of progress in traffic management during the race, and that was one of the keys of this success.»

Pierre Ragues : « We have a fine team, the level is impressive in LMP2, where there were only two retirements over six hours of racing. Neither the drivers nor the team made the smallest mistake, and the result is fantastic ! »

Roman Rusinov : « This is great for the team and for G-Drive ! We could have won, as we finished twenty seconds behind the winner, and we were fighting for the win until the end. The aim is to keep this going for the next races. »

Didier Calmels : « This is really a fine performance from what is a very young team, as I was reminded by the boss of G-Drive -Alexander Krilov- who was present in Silverstone this weekend to support the team. After fourth at Le Mans and third in Silverstone, we can dream of an even better performance in Sao Paulo. »
