For the first time this week, drivers and teams competing in the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans took to the track. Sunday’s official Test Day gave every crew six hours of running on the 13.626-kilometre Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans.

The next key milestone comes on Wednesday with Free Practice and the opening phase of qualifying, before the race gets underway in six days’ time.

LMP2

Nineteen ORECA 07s are on the grid for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. At the end of Test Day, IDEC Sport’s #28 ORECA 07 sits at the top of the timesheets.

Driven by Paul Lafargue, Valerio Rinicella and Job van Uitert, the car set the fastest lap of the day across both sessions with a 3m35.344s, providing the Signes-based team with the perfect start to its 2026 Le Mans campaign.

Having already placed inside the top three of the Pro-Am class in the morning session, TDS Racing’s #14 ORECA 07 moved to the head of the category and finished the day second overall in LMP2. Tobias Lutke, Mathias Beche and Kevin Estre ended the day just 0.175s off the pace.

Third overall, AF Corse’s #183 ORECA 07 remained firmly in contention throughout the day. François Perrodo, Ben Barnicoat and Matthieu Vaxiviere consistently featured among the front-runners. Already inside the top five after the opening session, Forestier Racing by Panis’ #29 ORECA 07 (Louis Rousset, Esteban Masson and Oliver Gray) finished fourth.

Another highly anticipated entry, Duqueine Team’s #30 ORECA 07, completed the top five with Doriane Pin, Richard Verschoor and Julien Andlauer sharing driving duties.

The Pro-Am top three was completed by CrowdStrike Racing by APR’s #4 ORECA 07 (George Kurtz, Alexander Quinn and Laurin Heinrich), which finished seventh overall.

Hypercar

Alpine Endurance Team made a strong start to its third Le Mans appearance. After the #36 claimed second place in the morning session, both French Hypercars ended the day inside the overall top five.

The #35 Alpine A424 of Charles Milesi, António Félix da Costa and Ferdinand Habsburg finished fourth, ahead of the sister #36 driven by Frédéric Makowiecki, Jules Gounon and Victor Martins. The arrowed-A squad continues its pursuit of a maiden podium finish in endurance racing’s most prestigious event.

Genesis Magma Racing is contesting the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time in its history. The GMR-001 made its debut at the headline round of the FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend.

The #19 entry, shared by Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin and Daniel Juncadella, secured a place in the overall top ten during Sunday’s afternoon session. The sister #17 car of André Lotterer, Luis Felipe Derani and Mathys Jaubert experienced a more challenging day and finished 18th.

LMGT3

Five Ferrari 296 LMGT3s assembled by ORECA are representing the Prancing Horse at the 2026 edition of the race.

Ferrari immediately showed strong pace by setting the benchmark in the GT3 category during Sunday’s opening session.

Vista AF Corse dominated the LMGT3 timesheets throughout the day. After the #21 set the pace earlier on, the #54 Ferrari moved to the top spot. Thomas Flohr, Francesco Castellacci and Davide Rigon posted a 3m56.646s to finish Test Day fastest in class.
