The 2025/2026 Asian Le Mans Series season came to an end at the Yas Marina Circuit, marked by a spectacular accident involving the Algarve Pro Racing ORECA 07 and the Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3, which caused a 70-minute interruption. Fortunately, both drivers were able to exit their cars under their own power.

Despite less than 75% of the race being completed and half points being awarded, DKR Engineering claimed their first victory of the season with the No. 3 car driven by Mathias Beche, Alexander Mattschull and Griffin Peebles. DKR took the win by 11.5 seconds over the No. 43 ORECA of Inter Europol Competition (Bijoy Garg, Nolan Siegel and Georgios Kolovos), while High Class Racing (Jens Reno Møller, Gustavo Menezes and Theodor Jensen) completed the podium. It was the best result of the season and a first podium appearance for all three teams.

DKR entered contention for victory towards the end of the third hour, as Mathias Beche passed Matthias Kaiser (APR) and Bijoy Garg (Inter Europol Competition) for third before handing over to Griffin Peebles under a Virtual Safety Car. The time gained allowed Griffin Peebles to jump ahead of High Class Racing and the No. 5 United Autosports ORECA 07, which had led for much of the race.

Despite two penalties, CrowdStrike Racing by APR finished eighth and secured the LMP2 title, along with an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, just two weeks after their victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona in IMSA.

In GT, Kessel Racing were crowned champions with a Ferrari 296 GT3 assembled in ORECA’s workshops, giving Ferrari its first GT title since the 2019/2020 season with Chris Lulham, Dustin Blattner and Dennis Marschall.

A thrilling finale that brings a magnificent season to a close for ORECA.
