Not only has ORECA Events been organising the upcoming FIBA 3×3 World Tour and FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series – to be held at the Palais des Sports in Marseille (France) from June 29th to July 1st 2023 – but the agency has also devised and developed a unique experience around it combining sport, entertainment and urban culture, and called 3XFestival.

A sporting show…

For sure the beginning of the summer will be both sporting and festive in Marseille! For three days, 3X Festival is going to take over the Palais des Sports, with breathtaking 3×3 basketball games on the court (Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifying competition) and free activities related to urban culture off the court.

Here’s the programme: thirteen games in total and one single goal for the best male and female players gathered in Marseille’s Palais des Sports: to get their ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games!

For those who will not be lucky enough to get to admire the best players of the discipline on site, maximum coverage will be ensured via SKWEEK TV, TV channel L’Équipe, Instagram and TikTok so that fans do not miss one single second of it all, from the pools right through to the finals on June 30th and July 1st at 10.15pm.

…and some festive activities!

As part of 3XFestival, and thanks to the many partners who have agreed to get involved, ORECA Events has designed a not-to-be-missed event that puts street basketball and hip-hop culture in the spotlight.

It will include a breakdance beginner workshop delivered by Original Rockers collective, a performance by Barjots Dunkers and a show by La Frappe – a collective of young local artists supported by Faf Larage and Marsatac Festival.

Sport lovers will get to have a go at 3×3 basketball by taking part in an amateur tournament in partnership with Comité Départemental 13 and Ligue Régionale PACA. An adrenaline rush will also be awaiting them at the skate park with skateboards, rollerblades and scooters provided by AMSCAS supervisors.

For those who are more into food, former professional basketball player and Michelin-starred chef Alexandre Mazzia will be there, promoting healthy food and encouraging balanced eating habits among the younger generation while also treating VIPs with a three-star gourmet food truck. Additionally KookaBarra will be introducing the public to new flavours, with their very own delicious and refreshing fruit juices.

A 3×3 basketball upside down photo room and a POSCA workshop with a gigantic mural will allow budding artists to leave their mark on 3XFestival.

Finally, 3XFestival will also team up with Match For Green to run four CSR stands in order to raise awareness of sustainable development among young people via interactive activities.

ORECA Events wants as many people as possible to attend. Everybody’s invited and can get their free ticket at 3xfestival.com!

While dance, music, sport and street art will be taking over the Palais des Sports both indoors and outdoors, in a festive and friendly atmosphere, the public will also get to see spectacular skills and breathtaking performances on the court!

“From June 29th to July 1st, 3XFestival will bring together the two most exciting 3×3 basketball competitions, offering the best players an opportunity to express themselves on the court. We want to thank all of our partners for their support as they’re allowing us to meet our goal, that is to say gathering together urban culture’s different features and allowing fans to have a go at various free activities to do with breakdancing, street art and music. Sport enthusiasts and basketball fans will get to share fun and immersive experiences within a convivial atmosphere!” ORECA Group Vice-President Raphaël de Chaunac
