As a result of its consistent focus on modernity and perpetual dedication to innovative projects, ORECA Magny-Cours, a major contributor in the field of engine preparation, has endeavored to upgrade one of its test bench to assess hydrogen technology engines for manufacturers, promoters and private teams beginning late first quarter 2022.

Vincent Garreau, ORECA Magny-Cours Projects Manager: Starting in March of 2022, ORECA will be able to evaluate hydrogen technology engines on two BORGHI machines with a capacity of 800 HP and 1000 N.m. Thanks to the latest generation combustion analysis tools, as well as our Design Office and combustion simulation partners, the entire team is excited to develop the engines of tomorrow.

The hydrogen test bench will allow ORECA Magny-Cours teams to give their projects a new dimension and will also be made available to the company’s main partners and customers in support of their achievements related to this new technology.

In tandem with this project, and with the goal of serving the “Dakar Future” energy transition plan launched by the rally raid in 2021, ORECA Magny-Cours is already working on a future hydrogen engine that can be fitted to Dakar competitor vehicles in the coming years.

Serge Meyer, Head of ORECA Magny-Cours: With 2022 upon us, it is essential for the automotive and motorsport sectors to develop future projects aimed at reasonable and sustainable mobility. Competition has always proven to be a formidable research laboratory. It is with this in mind and driven by everyone’s desire to contribute to the future that ORECA is investing in the new technologies that will power the vehicles of tomorrow.
