Rémi Taffin named new ORECA Group Technical Director

Starting in December, Rémi Taffin will take on the role of the ORECA Group’s new Technical Director, entrusted with all ORECA Technology activity, both relative to chassis projects at the headquarters in Signes and engines at the company’s subsidiary in Magny-Cours.

A graduate of ESTACA, Rémi Taffin possesses solid experience forged in Formula 1. After serving as a track engineer for Ricardo Zonta and Jos Verstappen, he worked directly with world champions Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso.

Rémi Taffin took over the management of Renault F1 track activities in 2009, then the responsibility for engine performance for Renault Sport F1 partners by supervising customer support for teams powered by Renault, with four world titles won by Red Bull Racing under his direction.

In 2014, Rémi Taffin stepped into the role of Director of Operations for the F1 team and two years later Engine Technical Director with the overall responsibility for powertrains for Renault and then Alpine F1, a position he left in June 2021.

Within the Group, Rémi Taffin will be responsible for ensuring the continuity of the structuring and rise of ORECA’s technical departments at a time when ORECA Technology is carrying out numerous leading sports and technical projects with prestigious partners.
