Sixteen hours into the race, nothing is yet decided in the LMP2 category. Several driver line-ups are still contenders for victory or a podium finish. The suspense is at an all-time high and there is no way to predict which ORECA 07 will win the 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary. Inter Europol Competition’s #34 ORECA 07 is currently in the lead.

After a string of surprises earlier in the race, the weather settled down and allowed the drivers to race on a fully dry track. However, they still had to contend with nighttime driving at the Le Mans circuit and all that it entails.

Some were forced to retire after certain mistakes made on the track. The #923 ORECA 07 of Racing Team Turkey, the #63 of Prema and the #32 of Inter Europol Competition will not make it to the chequered flag. The same can be said for COOL Racing’s #47 and AF Corse’s #80 who have seen their chances of figuring well in the classification slip away.

Inter Europol Competition’s #34 ORECA 07 shared by Jakub Smiechowski/Fabio Scherer/Albert Costa has held onto the lead the entire night. But the Polish team is trailed by Team WRT’s #41 driven by Robert Kubica/Louis Delétraz/Rui Andrade by only a few seconds.

A podium finish is still up for grabs between three crews. Duqueine Team’s #30 ORECA 07 shared by Neel Jani/René Binder/Nicolas Pino is currently in third. Hot on its heels are IDEC SPORT Racing’s #48 ORECA and Panis Racing’s #65 will give their all to achieve an excellent result.

In Pro/Am, Algarve Pro Racing maintains a significant advantage over its closest rival, COOL Racing’s #37 ORECA 07. The Belgian DKR driver line-up has all but claimed the third step on the category podium.
