On Sunday August 6, two Acura ARX-06s and seven ORECA 07s met at Road America for the eighth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Starting from fourth and sixth positions, the two Acura ARX-06s gave their all to climb to the top of the standings. After 2 hours 40 minutes of relatively calm racing, Meyer Shank Racing’s #60, which had been a real threat in the final minutes, clinched second place, while Wayne Taylor Racing’s #10 took third place and the championship lead in the GTP category.

These fine stint performances and solid teamwork enabled Acura to take second place in the Manufacturers’ standings.

In the LMP2 class, Ben Keating and Paul-Loup Chatin won by nine seconds from their closest pursuers! With this victory, they regain control of the championship in their category.

After a complicated start to the weekend, TDS Racing ended on a high note with a double podium finish. The #35 of Giedo van der Garde & John Falb finished second ahead of the #11 of Steven Thomas & Mikkel Jensen. The two sister cars beat Tower Motorsports, High Class Racing, Era Motorsport and Crowdstrike by APR.

Now it’s time for the summer break! Competitors will be in Indianapolis on September 17 for the penultimate round of the Championship.
