This weekend, the very first edition of the 24 Hours of virtual Le Mans took up the colossal challenge of bringing together 200 drivers, including 120 behind the wheel of 30 ORECA 07, to experience the largest ESport Endurance race in the world.
After an intense fight, it is finally the Oreca 07 of Team Rebellion Williams Esport #1 drove by Louis Delétraz, Raffaele Marciello, Nikodem Wisniewski and Kuba Brzezinski who is part of the history of simracing by winning the first virtual edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
If Team Rebellion Racing was able to nurture the hope of winning the double for some time thanks to LMP #13, it is the ORECA 07 Bykolles Burst Esport #4 which climbs on the second step of the podium. After a tough battle, the fate of the first three cars was finally sealed 20 minutes from the finish.
Authors of a great performance, the ORECA 07 quartet from 2 Seas Motorsport finished at the foot of the podium, followed by the ORECA 07 Veloce Esports 1.
Among the few Teams who are used to driving an ORECA 07 in real life, TDS E Racing Motul can be proud of its 8th place, like Team IDEC Sport which finished 10th, two places ahead of Panis Racing #31. Finally, the best lap went to Team Jota Redline in 3.24.054.
If the only ORECA 07 prototype was eligible in the LMP category, the Group is proud to see 26 of its 30 chassis chassis entered the finish.
“ORECA is very happy to see Team Rebellion, its partner in the World Endurance Championship, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans virtual! This magnificent victory gives us positive pressure for the real race which will take place on September. I especially want to congratulate one of our pilots for his great performance: Louis Delétraz. Congratulations to all the competitors who participated in this world premiere as well as to all those who went after these 24 hours of racing, certainly all as trying as in real conditions. Finally, I would like to congratulate the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the WEC team, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile as well as Motorsport Games who have put in place an exceptional simracing event allowing us to wait until September to live our passion together! Congratulations to all for the perfect realization of this extraordinary event.”, Hugues de Chaunac, ORECA Group’s President
