The Ferrari 296 GT3 triumphs at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring

In front of 235,000 spectators, the #30 Frikadelli Racing Team Ferrari 296 GT3 won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring!

Led by Nick Catsburg, Earl Bamber, Felipe Fernandez Laser and David Pittard, the latest GT3 of the prancing horse brand and assembled in the workshops of ORECA, signs the first success of Ferrari in the green hell.

Last month, the quartet had already scored a first victory in the general classification during the second qualifying race of the event.

This time, the Frikadelli Racing team won by setting a distance record with 162 laps covered and if a single puncture in the fifth hour of the race could have destroyed the hopes of victory, the drivers and the team were able to react skilfully to regain control of the race as soon as the night fell.

A shifted strategy and a last pit stop at the beginning of the 24th hour of the race kept the suspense alive until the chequered flag. In the hands of David Pittard, the 296 GT3 crossed the finish line with a nice lead of 26 seconds over its closest pursuer.

Another success to report for the Ferrari 296 GT3 was the victory of the #20 entered by WTM by Rinaldi Racing, which won the Pro-Am category of the SP9 class.
