For the four upcoming years, ORECA Events will be in charge of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour’s visit to France, allowing ORECA Group’s to diversify its activities.

Supported by the city of Marseille and French Basketball Federation (FFBB), this FIBA-endorsed event will be held at the Palais des Sports on June 22-24, bringing together two fantastic competitions: the 2023 FIBA 3×3 World Tour and the Women’s Series. Locals will get the chance to see this new Olympic discipline’s most talented players on the court.

With the support of the FFBB, ORECA Events will be in charge of organising this three-day competition and the urban show that comes with it. Everybody is invited! The best 3×3 players will be competing for a prestigious title on the professional circuit, hoping to collect ranking points in order to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Off the court, ORECA Events will be developing different activities and experiences, beyond basketball itself, looking to engage the local population through sports and urban culture – one of the city’s main goal.

The Bouches-du-Rhône department has also shown interest in the different aspects of the event and will be bringing its support.

This GESI-certified event (“Great International Sports Event”) will also be promoting gender equality. Indeed, the French round of the competition will include Women’s Series, that is to say the number one competition on the 3×3 women’s professional circuit. A great opportunity to see France’s women team – three-time world champion (2018, 2019, 2022) and defending champion!

Alongside the logistics itself, ORECA Events will also be in charge of media coverage, including TV broadcasts and partnerships.

Raphaël de Chaunac, ORECA GROUP Vice-President: “ORECA Events has been selected by FIBA and FFBB to organise the most prestigious 3×3 basketball event in France and ORECA Group is particularly proud of that. We’re going to do our best to have this federative event take over Marseille for three days and get the local population involved. With our 50 years of expertise in motorsports, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to diversify the Group’s activities and move towards an event that revolves around sports and urban culture and is all about boosting creativity and inviting athletes, brands, and public members to express themselves.”

Andreas Zagklis, FIBA Secretary General: Bringing the 3×3 World Tour and 3×3 Women’s Series to Marseille is a great opportunity to see the future Paris 2024 Olympians giving their all in two of the most prestigious 3×3 competitions, where players collect points to help their Federations to qualify for the Olympics.

Jean-Pierre SIUTAT, FFBB President: “Hosting one Masters event and one Women’s Series event in France is excellent news for our Federation. France’s both men’s and women’s teams will be taking part in these prestigious Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifying tournaments. The best 3×3 teams in the world will all be coming to Marseille and people will get to see players who’re at the top at their game which will boost the development 3×3 in France.”

Benoît Payan, Mayor of Marseille: “Marseille is a city of urban and popular sports. We’re proud to host this major competition in our facilities. This event will allow us to promote an up-and-coming sport that went from the streets to becoming an Olympic discipline, a sport in which women’s teams excel, a sport that conveys strong values and solidarity.”
