From October 9 to 11, the ELMS was in full swing with the 4 Hours of Monza, the penultimate round of the season. After their title won in the FIA WEC and their victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, United Autosports had the luxury of snatching the drivers and teams titles in the European Le Mans Series even before the final!

Despite a rowdy start to the race and a straight-ahead from the first corner following a contact, this victory marks the third success in ELMS for the duo Filipe Albuquerque & Phil Hanson and the tenth, all categories combined this year. With their ORECA 07 flanked by the number 22, the two drivers achieved the feat of winning the world title in WEC, the European title in ELMS, and the class victory in LMP2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A feat never before achieved in the same year in the history of Endurance.

As success is always better when shared, second place goes to the sister car, #32 driven by William Owen, Alex Brundle, and Job Van Uitert. After some great brawls on the track, they finished 3 seconds behind the winners.

This victory rewards a new adventure that began in July 2019 between ORECA and the English team United Autosports.

High Class Racing
Just 20 minutes after the start and thanks to a paid tire choice, the #20 High Class Racing ORECA 07 took control of the race. After two hours at the forefront and a clear round of the drivers, the Danish team was finally rewarded with a third-place on the podium recovered following an unfortunate downgrading inflicted on DragonSpeed, also the author of ‘a very good performance.

G-Drive Racing
As the #26 G-Drive Racing Aurus 01 chased the title, all his hopes for victory were dashed from the start of the race. Crashed in the first chicane, Roman Rusinov got stuck on a banana before the Safety Car hit the track. Forced to return to his pit to change a damaged radiator, the title was lost for good, despite the fastest lap in the race.

Now, spirits are turned to the 4 Hours of Portimao, the final round of the 2020 Championship scheduled from October 30 to November 1.
